Employment Law Attorneys Serving Newport News, VA and all of Hampton Roads
JBWK’s Employment Law Group recognizes the need for employers to keep abreast of the many legal obligations, both federal and state, impacting the employment relationship. Our goal is to help our clients proactively understand and balance the rights of management and employees in order to maintain a healthy and stable workforce and to reduce the risk of litigation.
The attorneys in our Employment Law Group have significant experience assisting employers with the myriad of issues arising out of and involving the employer/employee relationship. In proactively managing the employment relationship, we work with employers to review and develop legally compliant policies and procedures, prepare employment and non-competition agreements, and provide advice and guidance to employers as they navigate the employment relationship. For clients engaged in government contracting, our attorneys assist in preparing affirmative action plans. Additionally, we provide employers with specially designed training and workshops to minimize the risk of complaints and lawsuits. In the event that employment disputes do arise, we are well prepared to represent our clients before administrative bodies or courts at the local, state, or federal level.
The Employment Law Practice Group also assists clients with the establishment and maintenance of employee benefit plans, including both qualified and nonqualified retirement plans and welfare benefit plans. Our attorneys provide advice and assistance in correcting plan administration and other errors through federal voluntary compliance programs.
